As soon as I arrived Claire was waiting at the end of terminal. It was great to see her again! It was literally like it hasn't been three years since we've really seen each other! We grabbed the metro and headed to George Washington University where Claire is going to school an residing this summer. We went to some restaurants and caught up on life. We went to a mid west BBQ place and it was funny answering the questions to locals about the food since that's the food I've grown up around. We then walked around Washington DC at night and saw several of the monuments by night.
The rest if the time with Claire was great. We hung out in her room, tried new restaurants, saw the major things of DC, and watched some of the amazing Netflix documentaries lol.
We then met up with Kirsten at the hotel for the AFS conference.
During the conference I was able to go out and see many different things in the city. As normal me I always chose the unconventional way of transportation. I now know how to walk all over most of D.C. and not get lost.
The AFS conference was one of the best experiences in my life. I found more things that I love. I love to present an train. I love being able to help people. The best part about this training is I was training people to help others. It was a great revelation.
I met many new people from across the country. AFS showed me once again how great this world is!
Seeing Claire after four years was amazing!
