Mein Geburgstag!

My birthday was definitely different than what I am used to! I woke up to my host parents coming into my room with a tray of candles and my birthday candles. I don’t remember much of this time because I was still asleep during this time. Lol! Then I opened my presents in my room while I was getting ready. I then went to school. When someone would remember it was my birthday they would hug me and say “alles zum geburgstag.” It was nice though that they remembered since I’m the new kid on the block. Then after school my host mom picked me up from school, and we went home. I went on my computer to start checking all my facebook messages. I had over 50 notifications when I got home! Then we had the cake we had made the day before. It was really good! It was chocolate cake, with pears, and whip cream on top! Then we were all done with that, and my little sisters went to their room to play, so I went back to facebook and I had 20 more notifications. Later we went out to eat at a Italian/Greek restaurant! I was missing pasta sooo much, so it was great! My birthday was great, but it made me VERY! Homesick. I really really missed my friends and family back home. I cried a lot because I missed them on my favorite holiday of the year. To tell the truth, I even missed having to carry around the HUGE! Balloon bouquet around school. Although it’s a pain and I always hate it I really missed having it. I guess I secretly like it, and it’s such a secret that I didn’t even know it! Lol! SO yea my birthday was nice here, but I missed a lot of things from home that day.
